Part poker, part rummy, and part chess, VICI is a strategy and bluffing card game that allows for a few dollars stake.
Four Emperors comprise the suits of the VICI deck: Nero (spades), Galga (clubs), Otho (diamonds) and Vitellius (hearts). Their ever-changing relationships create a dynamic area in which you maneuver for you own survival by seeking out your friend to snuff out your foe—if you can tell them apart. Your goal is simple: to walk away after six hands with the most money. Or at least to walk away with more money than you came in with.
Success in VICI comes from learning to tell your friends from you enemies, understanding each’s motives, trusting your instincts, and concealing your own agenda. Following in the tradition of the ancient Roman rulers, it incorporates cunning, luck, deception, trust, and above all, strategy.
The Outlaws hunt the Sheriff. The Sheriff hunts the Outlaws. The Renegade plots secretly, ready to take one side or the other. Bullets fly. Who among the gunmen is a Deputy, ready to sacrifice himself for the Sheriff? And who is a merciless Outlaw, willing to kill him? If you want to find out, just draw (your cards)!
Two to Four players; requires less than minutes.
